A latest announcement on the Mercedes-AMG Facebook fan page, posted just an hour ago, heralds the release of the first official pictures and specifications of the new Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG no sooner and no later than tomorrow. It is like a Valentine's Day gift, they say, only that in advance. The new model will celebrate the world premiere at the 83rd edition of the Geneva Motor Show (7th - 17th March 2013).
The new A 45 AMG boasts all new technology developed in the ingenious Affalterbach laboratories. There's a new petrol engine to put the car into motion - the AMG M133 powerplant comes with a total displacement of 2.0 litres and uses state-of-the-art solutions for maximum efficiency and performance such as the twin-scroll turbocharging system from BorgWarner and the high-precision direct injection. The values that speak about the potential of this compact rocket are impressive: 6200 rpm, 450 Nm, 354 hp and 250 km/h (270 km/h with the Performance Package). Power reaches all four wheels with help from the 7-speed automatic gearbox and the specially engineered 4MATIC sports traction.
